It was late one night, long past my bedtime. I was still sitting at my desk, near the wide french window. Lazily looking up from my books, it seemed to me that somewhere in the garden the blurring contours of a mysterious silhouette were moving quietly among the dark trees. I stood up to check out what was going on...
As I silently walked towards the slightly cracked window , I observed the creature. It looked as a black ghost, the ones kids would costume as. I could see it was shorter than I was but I still felt shivers.
Should I tell my parents? No, they already warned me to go to bed, this would make them angry. I could maybe go outside with my big , German Shepherd dog. She was probably sleeping in the hallway. Quietly I rushed where she would sleep, but there was no sign of her. But as I stood and wondered where she could go, I heard barking outside. It was my dog...! She must've felt the presence of a stranger. But, how did she get out? The door was locked. Maybe the back door? I tried not to make any noises , even though the barking would've defeated them anyway. I went to the backdoor, but that one was locked either. I heard slight pounding at the front door. I walked to it again, the pounding becoming louder and louder. I was frightened . I looked through the tiny window that was on the door. It was the black kind of ghost I saw earlier. I built up my courage to open it. I took the key and put it in the lock. And then...
My dog came through me tackling me to the ground. She was the one with the black blanket on. I felt so much relief. She must've been grounded outside and maybe accidentally put on a blanket. It was such a coincidence I couldn't believe it. I locked the door and then got to bed, falling asleep from all this tension relief.
