Public transport is in my opinion a good thing for big cities or even for towns.A bus for exemple can hold more people then 2 cars so less vehicles, less accidents. The public transport increases the level of economy because people have to pay for tickets. On the other hand seventy percents of stealing cases are happening in busses or trains. Plus the public transport has a fix route so if want to reach a non-commun place you have to walk a bit.
All those being said, I think public transportation is a good thing.
